In recent years, Chinese philosophy has received wide attention of researchers. Scholars have outlined the significance of analyzing ancient Chinese texts to understand Chinese mentality. However, previous studies of Chinese philosophical treatises focused on philosophical content and ideas of the Ancient texts rather than on the linguistic and grammatical analysis of the tracts’ structure. It has been stated that the contradictory and unclear results of the previous research are due to methodological problems with the studies. This paper aims at shedding light on the structural peculiarities of “Chuang-tzu”, which is one of the most important Daoist texts. The new method of data analysis that was firstly used by Ulyanov M. Yu. will be employed to analyze the internal organization and language of “Chuang-tzu” and to infer conclusions regarding the process of compilation of the Taoist texts. The study makes contributions to the literature on structural analysis of the Chinese philosophical texts. Keywords: China, Chuang-tzu, Taoism, philosophy, history, linguistic analysis
