This work is devoted to the need to choose a model of behavior for Russia, which would help it to become an active participant in trade disputes within the WTO. To ensure that the participation of Russia in the system of dispute resolution became successful, it may be worthwhile to adopt the experience of Brazil. Russia also needs to take such steps as strengthening its legal capacity by attracting independent legal and consulting companies, active participation in disputes as a third party, in order to increase its evidence base and find more allies for trade interests. If these steps are taken, Russia has all the chances to become one of the active and successful WTO member countries.
