The ecological condition of the country is one of the important indicators for observed welfare of society. This work is devoted to research of a contribution of ecological innovations and "green technologies" in economic development of the country. The official statistics of the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for 2014, and the data of the The Global Cleantech Innovation Index index for 2017 formed information base of research.

The first chapter is about the main definitions and concepts of green technologies, about their classification and examples.

In the second chapter the current tendency of development of ecological technologies and green innovations is described.

The chapter three is devoted to the statistical analysis of influence of ecological innovations and green technologies on economic development of the country.

The carried-out analysis allowed to divide the OECD countries into three groups: the leading countries on use of ecological innovations, the countries which are catching up leaders and "the countries differing from the others".

Countries have various motivation to use of ecological innovations and green technologies, but the majority of them already realized importance of these technologies. This paper confirms the growing use tendency, and also increases in number of development of ecological innovations around the world.
