Conciliation Procedures in Civil and Arbitration Proceedings

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods have been widely recognized among both the public and the law experts in recent years. Nevertheless, these methods remain unpopular and underrated in Russia. Based on analysis of legal statistics and court practice as well as a study of relevant Russian legal framework, this research comprises a comparison of such ADR methods as arbitration, mediation, dispute resolution through negotiations and some others. The research consolidates information about advantages and disadvantages of several ADR methods in order to identify the most efficient and the most convenient methods to be used in modern Russian legal environment.
