The Determinants of the Effectiveness of M&A Transactions of Knowledge-Intensive Firms

The present work is devoted to the study of the determinants of efficiency of mergers and acquisitions of knowledge-intensive firms for the period from 2004 to 2014. Considered transactions in which the company-buyer is a knowledge-intensive firm, and the target company can be both a knowledge-based and a capital-intensive company. The purpose of this work is to analyze and identify the determinants of the efficiency of mergers and acquisitions of knowledge-intensive companies to further improve the efficiency of transactions in this area. Based on the results of the work, a regularity was revealed between the period of recession, stagnation and efficiency of the transaction, and between the efficiency of the transaction of a knowledge-based firm with the industry affiliation of the companies participating in the transaction; that the participation of firms in technology mergers positively affects the company's efficiency
