Amulets in Chinese Culture (on the Example of Alekseev Collection in the State Museum of the History of Religion)

The paper is aimed on research and classification of Chinese traditional amulets. The research is held on the base of the Alexeev collection in the State Museum of the History of Religion. In order to find out the place of Chinese traditional amulets in the world cultural heritage describe the phenomenon of magical amulets in the context of world culture. To make a proper classification, the research also includes the basic analyze of Chinese traditional amulets in Alexeev collection (translation, description and deciphering of inscriptions of images). The final result of this research is a creation of the full catalog of Chinese traditional amulets from the Alexeev collection in the State Museum of the History of Religion.
