In this paper we study the role of the Commissioner for human rights in the protection of political rights of citizens. The relevance of the topic of the thesis research is due to the need to improve the institutions of a democratic state and their development. The political situation in the country from 2012 to the present is dynamic, which directly affects the political rights of citizens, which are an instrument in the management of state Affairs. The aim of the research is to conduct comparative analysis of the activities of the Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation in the period from 2012. by 2017. for the protection of political rights of citizens, defining the role of the Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation in the protection of political rights of citizens on the basis of the analysis.
