This work is devoted to the development of a multiprocessor system on a chip, which is based on the processor MIPS-architecture schoolMIPS. The object of development is a system, which is a network on a chip, consisting of routers with connected to them processor cores. In the process of working on this project for improving the base processor schoolMIPS for use in larger-scale projects the opportunity is studied and recommendations are given. The work includes a review of the MIPS-architecture processor cores, a comparative analysis of the ways of interaction between processors, the choice of methods for transferring data over the network, the rationale for selecting development tools and a debug board, and analyzing the resources expended and the performance of the created networks on the chip. The result of this work is a multiprocessor system based on the MIPS-architecture processor, which implements the concept of a network on a chip. This development allows you to extend the proven solutions for building networks on a chip on more efficient processor cores. The scope of this work – 9188 characters, it contains 29 figures, 7 tables and 36 sources.
