This thesis contains an analysis of the main factors that influence investment climate of Russian Federation and its regions. In the research, investment attractiveness is considered as a set of indicators that characterize investment risks and investment potential of a region. Firstly, the investment climate is studied on the federal level. The research consists of analyzing the structure of investments in fixed capital, assessing the volume of FDI inflows and outflows, and forecasting inflows of investments in fixed capital by the analysis of quarterly data and further building of SARIMA model. In the regional context, investment attractiveness is assessed by means of regression analysis, where the dependent variable is the volume of investments in fixed capital, which serves as an indicator of investment attractiveness, and the factors are different economic indexes that characterize investment risk and potential.
