Political Influence of Turkish Diaspora in Germany

Annotation Germany has had a Turkish community since 1961. Turkish diaspora is one of the biggest in Germany. The history of relationship between Germany and Turkey is rather huge, so the research is focused on more relevant period from 1961 to modern time. The main goal of this work is to analyze the political influence of German-Turks. There are several main objectives: to evaluate Turkish integration in German society; to examine the main obstacles, which prevent Turks from being much more influential; to analyze the modern status of German-Turks. Furthermore, the paper examines the influence of Turkish emigration on Turkey. Following results were achieved: in the beginning German government decided to go with a wrong integration policy; the educational level of the Turks is quite low as well as the level of German language ; German people want Turks to assimilate with them, but Turks do not want that; Turkish immigrants decided to participate in German politics after the family reunification law; the Turkish emigration had a positive impact on Turkey.
