Testing the Predictive Power of Technical Analysis

In this work, the problem of the predictive ability of publicly available technical indicators that can be used on any trading platforms is considered. The paper does not consider passive market analysis strategies. The theoretical and practical aspects of technical analysis are analyzed, and a list of the most popular and reliable indicators is compiled. The necessity of combining and building new technical components for a more successful analysis of trading instruments has been identified and justified. Based on the analysis was done, a summary of the predictive capabilities of the available indicators is provided. Presented the further development of work in a narrower direction. The final part of the work is a summary of the whole work and recommendations to people who would like to seriously engage in such activities in the future.
