Within the research the information system (IS) of accounting and inventory planning was integrated into the retail store Aurora. At the beginning, the requirements for the most suitable IS for the case were compiled based on a comparative analysis of existing Russian commodity accounting systems and business processes of the object of integration. Following this, the system which had been determined to be the best solution was implemented. The implementation itself took place in the Aurora store. Thus, the main goal of the research was to implement an accounting information system in order to optimize a variety of operational processes, thereby increasing the economic efficiency of the enterprise. The work contains the following stages: To achieve this goal, the following tasks have been completed: 1. Market research into commodity accounting systems in Russia 2. Pre-project survey of the enterprise, identification of requirements for the information system and selection of a system that meets those requirements. 3. Implementation of the selected system 4. Summary of the project and demonstration of improvements. Finally, the advantages of using commodity accounting systems in comparison with the manual administration of a store have been demonstrated, showing that the main goal of the work has been achieved: the information system of accounting and inventory planning has been introduced into the Aurora food store. The data produced as a result of the research is useful mostly for SME representatives eager to improve the performance of their store by operational activity automation.
