This socio–economic research is devoted to studying the relationship between parental educational level and student’s academic success. Major characteristics of families, schools and territory should be treated as the main and crucial determinants of students’ successful education since they impact students’ results in all school subjects. This study presents empirically validated models for evaluation the effects of parental education on test results as well as for assessing the moderate effect of parents’ education in different social groups. The data for the analysis are taken from an international database – TIMSS 2015. The obtained results showed that educational levels of both parents are positively linked with student’s academic results and this link is both direct, and indirect.
