The theme of artificial intelligence or AI (Artificial Intelligence) is at the peak of popularity and is one of the most relevant and breakthrough technologies of the present time. In a simple understanding, AI is an intelligent machine based on a software tool; it has the properties of the real mind, is able to exercise and perform atypical instructions, consciously approach the task and make decisions. But what exactly is the basis of this commonly used term? What are the vital areas of artificial intelligence? And, finally, can a machine ever replace a human being?

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.
