Elasticities of Electricity Demand in Ural Economic Area

On the basis of data of electricity demand and its price for the period from 2015 to 2017 long-run elasticity and the influence of other factors in the Ural economic area in Russia are estimated. The main factors influencing electricity consumption are distinguished: unregulated price in the wholesale market, seasonal factors (seasons, air temperature and so on). It is revealed, that the demand in some regions are price elastic, but in others it is price inelastic. Keywords: total demand for electricity, long-run price elasticity, time series analysis, Ural economic area in Russia.
