Classifications of business strategies have received much attention in the past fifty years. The desire of companies to increase their efficiency leads to the emergence of new ways to achieve a competitive advantage. The aim of this work is to extend current knowledge of strategic behavior classification of companies. Within the framework of this aim, we use the cluster analysis as the main method to reveal strategic profiles of Russian companies with regard to intellectual capital management. The study reveals three significant clusters among Russian companies: non-intangible-intensive companies, companies focusing on innovative resources and firms emphasizing information and communication technologies. More than that, a positive influence of innovative strategy on firm performance was found. Since the intellectual capital management is a substantial part of company's activity, the obtained results can help managers with the decision-making process.
