The Impact of Food Embargo on Fishing Industry

In 2014, Russia imposed the food embargo in reference to some countries enforcing Anti-Russian sanctions. The paper researches the presence of the embargo influence on evolvement of the industries producing commodities in Russia that were forbidden from importing from the several countries. Primarily, the research paper is focused on exploration of changes in production of the fishing industry. Applying the method “Difference – in – difference” provided with answer of primary goal. The collected database consist of yield of the fishing industry before and after the embargo imposition. Moreover, yield of the manufacturing industry before and after the embargo imposition stored in the database. Such a database will permit usage of the method “Difference – in – difference”. The result of the research rejects the presence of the significant impact of the food embargo on the fishing industry. The research paper comprises of introduction, literature review, research hypothesis and methodology, database and exploration, conclusion and references.
