Human Capital of a Child: the Factors of Its Formation
Economics
(Bachelor’s programme)
2018
The research represents analysis of factors that influence children's formation of human capital until the age of 7. This paper work is based on Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey, which is collected by National Research University – Higher School of Economics. The data were taken for 2016 research year (17 wave). Human capital of a child is a latent variable, therefore it was denoted by a such proxy variable, as the time that parents spend with their children. As a result we can see a positive correlation of children's attending an infant school with human capital formation. Moreover, the study shows quadratic dependence between the children's age and the time they spend with their parents. The author of this paper revealed the fact that such variables as education and parents' wage rate did not have significant influence on children's human capital.
