Investigation o Peculiarities of Using Event Marketing Tools to Attract Tourists to Nizhny Novgorod

This work considers event marketing as one of the tools to create the image of the territory and attract tourists to the region on the example of Nizhny Novgorod. The purpose of the master's thesis is to identify the features of Nizhny Novgorod, which must be considered in the formation of the event calendar of the city. The object of the study is the event calendar of Nizhny Novgorod, the subject - the possible directions of development of the event calendar of the city. The author of the work studied the basic concepts and tools of marketing and event marketing in the tourism sector. Based on the results of research work, recommendations have been developed for the formation of a unified concept for the development of the event calendar of the city on the basis of the data: a survey among compatriots, interviews with experts of the tourism industry, as well as a comparative analysis with other major cities of the Volga Federal district. The scientific novelty of this work is to study the model of promotion of the city of Nizhny Novgorod in the aspect of event marketing, taking into account modern realities. The practical significance of the work is determined by the possibility of application of the formed recommendations for the development of the event calendar of the city in the activities of both private organizations and at the level of regional and city administration.
