The problem of monstrosity stayed inside the boundaries of real sciences until the XX century and only recently became the object of the analysis in the field of humanities. This quite new topic came out as a significant in the culture after two World Wars which caused the emergence of non – normative bodies as well as the figure of a ‘monster’. Simultaneously, the period of the second half of XX century was marked as the noticeable reconsideration of gender normativity, and the rise of feminist ideology, which nowadays concerns not only about the female rights, but about the issues of discrimination related to ethnicity, body and other minorities. Hence, in my research I claim that this interior society changes significantly transformed media since the period of then to nowadays, so it is possible to follow this influence in depiction of characters represented in media. As the demonstrative example I suggest the full-length animated films of Walt Disney Company as it is one of the most popular companies that produce cartoons, so it illustrates the major patterns of western world changing traditions of depiction gendered monsters in the products of mass culture
