While learning the human history, people inevitably confront the tragic events which are related to the destruction of the particular nation, an ethnic or racial group. Genocide is considered to be the one of the most serious and appalling crimes which constitutes breaches of universally recognized principles of International Law. The author analyses the legal definition of the crime and also takes into consideration its modern judicial interpretation. Particular attention is paid to the concept of protected groups, to the quantitative measurement of genocide, to problems of criminal prosecution including defenses and accessory, and to concerns of international judicial cooperatio
