The Influence Policy of Negative Interest Rates on the Behavior of Commercial Banks

n this paper, the influence of the policy of negative interest rates on commercial banks of Japan, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Italy. In this subject was analyzed the modern literature and was created a model that allows to assess the extent to which banking indicators are influenced by this policy. As a result of the research, a clear statistically significant impact of negative interest rates was revealed both on the effectiveness and profitability of banks and their behavior in terms of their response to strategies for attracting deposits and issuing loans. This study was allowed us to improve our understanding of how the banking system can respond to a strong drop in interest rates and how their performance and profitability are changing.
