Improving Efficiency of the Container Terminal

In the modern world, the dynamic increase of cargo flows contributes to the upturn in the intensity of container terminals activity, exacerbates the necessity to increase the efficiency of their functioning due to geographical and financial limitations, different internal and external factors. The main aim of the present study is to observe ways of enhancing the efficiency of the container terminals. The object of the study is presented by the activity of the container terminal LTD “NUTEP”, while the subject – by the means of efficiency enhancement of the terminal work. As a result of the research, the theoretical base about the means of optimization has been built relatively to container terminals’ activity, due to which the methodic of practical analysis has been constructed. Moreover, possible factors have been identified, influencing the terminals’ efficiency, some economically supported optimization tools have been suggested, being relevant for the “NUTEP’s” activity. On the whole, the research has revealed the deficit of national inquiries in the sphere of development and optimization of container terminals’ activity.
