Analysis of the Significance and Conflictedness of Party Positions in Voting by Methods of the Evidence Theory

This paper deals with determination of significance of parliamentary party positions and their propensity towards conflict. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of election positions of parliamentary parties, consensus of views of different parties or their propensity towards conflict. The problem is solved by means of evidence theory methods. 2013-year elections for the German Parliament Bundestag were considered. The results of pre-election answers of German parties to the questions of citizens were studied. With the use of Choquet integral the most important sets of questions were singled out. Further assessed the significance of party positions using Evidence Theory methods based on key questions subsets. Also assessed the propensity towards conflict or similarity of different parties as regards the key questions. Results obtained in this paper, concerning the significance of German Parliament parties’ positions as regards various questions, their propensity towards conflict and coordination may be used to select the optimum strategy of parties, draw attention to issues which may influence on the formation of parliamentary coalitions.
