Improving the Efficiency of Warehouse Operations

In this diploma paper the issue of increasing the efficiency of operating activities at the warehouses of the company "Nokian Tyres" is being considered. This topic has practical relevance for many enterprises whose activities are related to the storage of goods, since the optimization of warehouse operations is one of the main factors in reducing costs and thereby contributes to increased profits. In the first part of the diploma paper theoretical aspects are studied: the basic concepts of warehouse, methods for assessment the efficiency of warehouse activities and modern technologies that contribute to increased productivity, paying attention on the order picking process. The second section gives description and analysis of the activities of the company "Nokian Tyres". The third part gives recommendations on the improvement of the warehouse system to solve the identified problems, the economic rationale of these solutions is given. The project contains: 102 pages, including 24 tables, 32 figures, 6 appendices, a bibliographic list of 57 titles.
