The Transformation of Citizenship Policies in Post-Soviet States

An empirical analysis of the transformation of the citizenship policies in post-Soviet states has been carried out in this paper. The chosen methodology allowed identifying the various aspects of legal changes of acquisition and loss of citizenship within 25 years of the independent development of post-Soviet states. The Citizenship Policies Index was also calculated, which was used for further analysis. As a result of the study, a conclusion is made about the high degree of pragmatism of the citizenship policies in post-Soviet states.
