The purpose of this paper is to find what determines whether a company gets a relief package or not. The hypothesis for this question is the following: Russian Government supported firms with political connections rather than companies that did not have such connections. We look throw all major firms that got sanctioned and select 30 companies. Based on that selection we then differentiate them by the industry and investigate how much help every company received. We established that politically connected companies are one the main assets that politicians in Russia tend to secure and provide assistance in turbulent time.
