The Influence of Psychological Well-Being on the Employee Engagement: Age Group Distinctions

The main feature of a person today is his desire to realize himself in life and to receive inner satisfaction from his actions. A psychologically prosperous person is not only internally satisfied with himself, but also does not experience difficulties in the environment with the fulfillment of everyday tasks, he positively relates to others. Therefore, it is important to investigate this aspect of psychology precisely in the context of the engagement of personnel, because the effectiveness of the company really depends on the person’s functioning in the internal environment of the organization. The paper explores two concepts: psychological well-being through the Carol Riff’s technique, and the level of engagement through the questionnaire of the consulting company ‘Gallup’. Two samples of different age categories are presented: Generation X and Y. The data were analyzed by statistical methods of analysis. In this paper, the influence of psychological well-being on engagement of personnel is proved. The developed recommendations can increase the overall index of employee engagement of the organization, as well as improve the level of persons psychological well-being. Therefore, this work is of practical significance for the company's managers and for the employees themselves.
