Use of Social Networks by People with Different Levels of Subjective Well-Being

Several attempts have been made to study how technology platform as Vkontakte influences on the personal psychological factors. The general purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between subjective well-being (SWB) and social network sites use on the Russian database (N = 84). The general hypotheses of the study that will be tested are: 1) in the parameters of activity in the social network Vkontakte in people with different levels of subjective satisfaction with life differ; 2) Personality traits contribute to the characteristics of using Vkontakte by people with different levels of SWB. There are several methods, which is used in this study: two questionnaires, i.e. Subjective Well-Being Scale in adaptation by Osin & Leontiev, NEO-PI-R shortened version by Costa & McCrae, and data collection by programmers from the VKontakte using application «Psynote VK». Data analysis has shown that there is no difference between people with different levels of SWB.
