Formation of the Competitive Strategy of the Hotel Based on the Capabilities of Industry and Resource Concepts

In today's economy, competitive strategy plays a significant role in the success of the business and its effectiveness. There are many tools for forming a competitive strategy. For each field of activity and a separate aspect, a separate tool is used in it. In the modern world, the service sector is one of the most developing and demanded spheres. In the resort sector there is a huge number of hotels of different specifics. Due to a large number of hotels, there is a high level of competition. That makes it necessary to have an effective competitive enterprising strategy. In this regard, in this paper, as an example, will be considered the hotel «Sport Inn», located in the city of Sochi. Nowadays, there are many quality sources that describe the problem of having a competitive strategy in modern business. However, the number of literature sources devoted to the issue of competitive strategy in the hotel business, and specifically in resort hotels of medium size, is extremely small. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the existing competitive strategy of the hotel "Sport Inn" and formulate recommendations for it. The main research methods of the study are: interviewing the hotel manager and questioning the hotel guests. As a result of the paper, missing elements of the existing strategy will be identified and recommendations will be formulated for the competitive strategy of the hotel.
