Applying Logistics Methods to Warehousing Development: the Case of Ltd "BSH Bytoviye Pribory"

The article considers the ways to increase effectiveness of a production warehouse of raw materials and unfinished goods. Lack of space for storing is frequently mentioned as the main bottleneck to reach improvement of the warehouse KPI (Key Performance Indicators): capacities and throughput. As far as this paper concerned, the effective space utilization is a result of both optimal equipment choice and efficient management. At the same time, to work out the best solution the role of integration of production and warehouse departments should not be underestimated. In order to increase throughput and capacity an algorithm was proposed, which was applied to a case. The business case is based on supply warehouse of Ltd «BSH Bitowiie Pribori».
