Nowadays the world’s population is ageing since life expectancy is growing from year to year while fertility is declining. As a result, the proportion of elderly people in the population increases and proportion of working age people declines. For many years, this topic has interested demographers, economists and sociologists all over the globe. The complexity and multidimensionality of the ageing of the population as a socio-demographic phenomenon entails a variety of approaches to its study and the identifi-cation of its various consequences. Especially the aging process is significant in Eastern Asian countries, where the ques-tion of ageing is very relevant, as it had already taken place in Japan. It affects all aspects of human life: education, healthcare, pension system, etc. Hence, it is important to study what are the differences in these spheres in regard with population aging. How countries, which have already faced with population ageing or only will face in future, differ from each other in the pace of solving the situation with growing number of elderly and rapid declining of younger people.
