Research of Russian folk art is devoted to the design of capsule collection of souvenirs. Nowadays the amount of product provided in a souvenirs market has been developed in the middle of the last century. Such products are uncompetitive in the international market in cause of the lack of a new-product development. The souvenir market belongs to companies that work according to 20th century standards. These standards build up barriers for small businesses and slow down the development of the domestic market. Also available products do not match to current national identity. Therefore before creating new-oriented products we should carry out a deeper research of historical heritage and folk art and crafts. During the creating of the capsule collection, it is necessary to take into account the needs of customers and the latest trends in product design. In addition we should find the way of introduction of cultural heritage in the modern context. With the goal to solve the problem of outdated souvenirs we develop the concept of smart production and sales system. The study is focused on the research of consistence and evolution of visual language of traditional art. Furthermore we analyze the existing modern experience of working with the cultural heritage in product design. The presented study allow us to highlight qualitative visual solutions of the folk art for the future project of Russian souvenirs capsule collection.
