Development of System Strategic Project Management in the Company

Keywords: system of strategic project management, portfolio management, strategic project and program management, project integration into business strategy. The object of the research is the Russian company of the telecommunications industry MTS. The subject of research is the system of strategic project management. The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of the strategic project management system on the projects integration into the business strategy and to develop practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the strategic management system in the company. Hypotheses of the study: 1) the implementation of a strategic project management system contributes to the level of projects’ integration in the company's strategy, while its lack makes it difficult to get the most out of the project results to achieve the strategic goals; 2) the development of a strategic project management system in the company is possible if the organization has certain prerequisites and conditions, which are the basic elements for the development of an integrated system of strategic planning and project management. Research methodology: the method of questionnaire and in – depth interview, methods of statistical analysis and of secondary and primary information, case study. The work consists of three chapters. In the first Chapter, the main approaches to the project management system formation are studied and a theoretical model of "prerequisites-conditions-requirements" is developed. The second Chapter of the work presents a description of the methods of analysis and a study with the interpretation of the results to understand the current state of project management system development in MTS. In the third Chapter, recommendations were developed to improve the existing system of strategic project management in MTS. The volume of work is 122 pages, 50 figures, 3 tables, 52 sources used.
