Cinematic Image of Politicians in Contemporary Russia and USA: Comparative Analysis

In this study, an attempt is made to highlight the features of the image of the politician in the cinema depending on the political system on the basis of a comparative analysis of the cinematography of contemporary Russia and the United States. In the first part of the work an excursion into the theoretical concepts necessary for understanding the specifics of research is conducted: theoretical approaches to the issues of the political system, the notion of visualization in cinematography, the theory of cinema and the cinematographic image are revealed. The second part reviews the literature on the political content of popular culture, in particular cinematography, and also examines contemporary cinema in Russia and the United States and the impact on it of political systems of these states. In the third part, films from Russia and the United States, produced in the period from 2007 to the present, are selected; on the basis of the selected criteria, a detailed analysis of the images of politicians demonstrated in these films is carried out, their comparison is carried out. The general conclusions are drawn concerning differences in the construction of images in the modern cinematography of states with different political systems.
