The purpose of this study is to study the use of virtual reality technology and its impact on the decision to choose a hotel. For this purpose, the analysis of theoretical studies of Russian and foreign authors in the field of hospitality and tourism was carried out: the concept, types and applications of virtual reality technology were studied, and the factors influencing the choice of the hotel by the client were revealed. An experiment was conducted (by the method of focus groups) to investigate the presence of the influence of virtual reality technology on the choice of a hotel. The results of the experiment were then transcribed into text for further analysis. Using the System Usability Scale (SUS), user expectations were measured for convenience and ease of use. When analyzing common words, the "tag cloud" tool was used, with the help of which it was revealed that the demonstration of the VR-application of the hotel left vivid impressions and emotions for the respondents. By analyzing the tone of the statements, the strengths and weaknesses of the product were identified.  In general, the use of the virtual reality application is popular with users. It should be said that using this technology can be one of the factors affecting the choice of the hotel by the client.
