The Determinants of Leverage of Russian Banks

In this paper we investigate the influence of such parameters like return on assets, size of a bank and liquidity volumes on the financial leverage of russian financial intermediaries. We try to understand the effect of standard companies’ parameters of capital structure on the financial leverage of russian banks. Alongside we add some macro factors like quarterly growth rate of GDP and exchange rate volatility to account for export-oriented specification of Russia.
