In recent years, Internet media in Russia are experiencing their peak development. New platforms and formats of publications appear. The audience of Russian media is getting younger every year and needs proven sources of information, as well as in the modern design of published content. Almost all media holdings in Russia are concerned with the issue of efficient distribution of content in social networks and other Internet platforms. Through the use of social media accounts, the media have found a way to solve two critical issues: increasing the effectiveness of distribution of content, and increasing the trust of the audience through sources of information verifiers. The purpose of this work is to create a model for distribution of news content of Russian media in social networks. We analyzed the attitude of the audience to the editorial standards of the media, studied their preferences, and compared the results of the online survey with the opinions of the editors of the leading mass media in Russia: RBK, RIA, Rain, Medusa. With the help of the results obtained during the interview, we were able to predict the effectiveness of the use of social networks to attract the audience and an active dialogue with users. Keywords: Internet media, distribution of content, verification of news.
