This work is devoted to the place of cinema in the lifeworld of Soviet moviegoers in the "thaw". Present paper attempts to achieve the goal from three perspectives. First, we will try to reconstruct the images that were broadcast for the Soviet moviegoers from the screen. Secondly, we will be interested in the reaction of the Soviet people to the movies and opinions that were expressed in the Soviet era. The third position is the interpretation of the interview materials. This gives us the opportunity to identify what is difficult to find in archival documents and open sources - namely, the practices and meanings of film screenings. The interpretation of the interview allows us to understand some of the laws of film memories, how ideas about the past are built for respondents in the context of modernity.
