Client-server Android Application "Fox Hunting" with a Multiplayer Mode
Software Engineering
(Bachelor’s programme)
In the USSR there was a very popular game called Fox Hunting. The main purpose of the

game is to find pre-concealed transmissions of radio waves (foxes) with the help of a direction

finder, a compass and a paper map. A participant has to find 3-5 foxes faster than other players.

But the game has some disadvantages. The main one is complexity, as the game demands a lot of efforts of competition organizers for finding an appropriate area and places for foxes. Besides, cost of radio transmissions and directions finder add difficulties for the game arrangement. High popularity shows that there is great interest to games where players should move offline. Besides, at present moment we cannot find an Android game which implements the idea of the Fox Hunting. As a result, we can consider an Android game where the main Fox Hunting principle is implemented. Players should move offline to find foxes.

This project is continuation of last year’s work. That is why the main task is to add

multiplayer mode for playing in teams.

The paper contains 25 pages, 3 chapters, 20 illustrations, 8 appendices.

Index Terms: fox hunting, android game, real terrain game
