The Effectiveness Improvement of Sales and Operations Planning Processes in the Manufacturing Company

Sales and operations planning (S&OP) is a g process for a decision-making that was developed to put company’s resources in line with the company's strategic view. The purpose of this study is to develop clear principles of sales and operations planning and implement them in a manufacturing company. Designed processes need to be modified and improved comparing to standards as they need to be applicable for processes connected with a specific type of products dedicated to National Holidays. The choice of the topic is based on its relevance as there are almost no surveys on managing seasonal products which include limited timings of sales and unexpected demand. The goal of this paper is to, firstly, investigate a theoretical basis of S&OP, its evaluation and specific features of functioning in the frame of FMCG sector. The next step is to analyze differences between planning regular products and planning presents. The final point is to develop effective planning processes for Procter & Gamble company which are applicable for gift products.
