Motivation and Incentives of Doctors of State Healthcare Organizations of Moscow

Labor motivation of employees in organizations, particularly in public organizations, is of growing interest among managers. This research is aimed at studying the complex nature of motivation and incentives among the doctors of Russian healthcare organizations on the example of the personnel employed in the medical institutions of stationary type. To assess the modern incentive structure and motivational type of doctors, a survey among the staff of Moscow medical institutions (n=72) was conducted on the basis of the theory of the Russian sociologist Gerchikov. After the obtained data was analyzed, it was revealed, firstly, that doctors have professional type of motivation and, secondly, that there is a picture of the discrepancy between the motives and incentives of health personnel.
