Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory Services Market: Structure, Demand, Competition and the Impact of Public Policy

In recent years, the key public health problem is improving the quality and accessibility of health services to the public. Laboratory studies are the most popular among all population groups. The market of clinical diagnostic services (CDL) has undergone great changes due to the policy of import substitution since 2010. Thus, the purpose of this article is to assess the state of the CDL services, and the impact of import substitution policies for developing recommendations for improving state regulation CDL services` market in Russia. This paper focuses on the analysis of public policy in the field of medical services since the 1990s and the assessment of the dynamics of the development of the Russian CDL services market based on marketing research. Also within the framework of this work, a qualitative sociological study was conducted - a deep interview with 12 representatives of laboratories in Moscow and the Moscow region. In conclusion, proposals will be put forward to further improve the state regulation of the CDL services market in Russia.
