Features of Leadership in the Modern Organization

Nowadays, the problem of leadership is getting more and more actual every year. People are interested in who is an effective leader and what leadership style he or she uses. A leader, who can direct his subordinates and rally people to achieve the organization’s goals, is an effective leader. The purpose of the paper is to reveal features of leadership in the organizations of public authorities. In the theoretical part of the paper, there will be considered the term leadership and leadership styles such as democratic, authoritative, liberal, transformational, transaction and not-transaction. The paper gives a detailed analysis of leadership in the organization. It presents various theories, styles and types of the leader. In the empirical part of the paper, I conduct the empirical research in the organization using A.L. Zhuravlev and Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) methods. The selection made 35 participants from the Bank of Russia. It was revealed that the prevailing styles of leadership in the modern organization are: democratic and also combination of transformational and transaction styles.
