The present work is devoted to topical issues of Russian companies financial stabilization, reasons for the emergence of crisis situations and tools for the improvement of companies. Approaches to the diagnosis of the financial crisis and the threat of bankruptcy of the company, as well as the identification of financial stabilization instruments are examined on the example of a major player in the Russian automotive market of Volkswagen Group Rus. The research aim of the paper is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of anti-crisis management mechanisms and to determine the instruments of financial stabilization that help company to cope with a crisis situation. In the paper the crisis periods of the Volkswagen Group Rus were diagnosed, and the main set of financial stabilization instruments of the company was identified. Through the analysis of the Russian automobile industry, the main trends of the car market and the main players with the largest market shares were revealed, the influence of various macroeconomic factors on the volume of sales of new cars on the Russian market was investigated by constructing an econometric model. The conducted research and recommendations developed with the help of classical methods of econometric analysis, statistical approach and estimation of the company's bankruptcy probability by using scoring models can be applied to the analysis of other enterprises in this industry.
