Design of the Model for DSS for the Logistic Terminals Development

Student: Gorbatov Andrey

Supervisor: Alexander V. Belov

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Applied Mathematics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

The objects of the study is the application of decision support systems (DSS) in the design of logistic terminals. The goal of the work is to develop a model of a decision support system for the design of logistics terminals. In the process of the work, the principles and classification of DSS were studied. In addition, the analysis of the operation of warehouses and their internal and external environment was carried out; the relations between the important parameters that are taken into account in the design of logistics terminals were identified. It was found that for the DSS modelling purposes, the logistic terminal could be described with a system of equations with limitations. On the basis of the obtained data, the model for finding the minimum recommended area of the designing warehouse was developed. The results of this work may be useful in the development of decision support systems for the design of new logistic terminals, as well as in further research on the application of DSS in the design of logistic terminals. The proposed model could be improved and applied in order to solve design problems.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.
