Career Strategies of Politically Active Young People of St. Petersburg

In the ever-changing modern world, the problem of employment for young people is quite acute, the concepts of the boundaries of adulthood and the trajectories of adulthood are increasingly problematized, and today's young people are increasingly devoting their time and effort to civil and political activism. This work is devoted to the study of career strategies of young people aged 18 to 30 years living in Saint-Petersburg and considering themselves among political activists. In the framework of the present study, the features of the ideas of politically active young people about their future career and what could have an impact on them are revealed. In addition, the paper raises the topic of involvement of young people in politics, the connection of their future career with political activity, the acquisition of certain capitals by activists and their conversion, as well as certain barriers and overcoming them. The empirical base of the work includes qualitative data: ten leitmotif interviews with activists who adhere to the views of different political units represented both in Russia and abroad.
