The paper presents the results of a graduate study devoted to the study of emotional space and structure of museums. In the theoretical and methodological fields, we approach the study of cultural systems in classical and modern sociology that are considered within the framework of the museum as an institutional system (the theory of communicative action, the general theory of social systems, the sociology of space). In addition, we analyze the ideas about the development of the functional museum practices in the post-modern era dedicated to interact with a modern visitor. The data analysis presents visitors and employees interviews of the Museum «Garage» and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
