In this paper we assumed that the ethnic individual and group self-identification occurs in interaction with others and the language as the main instrument of communication on the internet contributes to define ethnicity boundaries in the web space. Based on this theory, we analysed messages from Vkontakte groups where the Chuvash language was used and determined the language component of the Chuvash internet-identity construction. Applying methods of topic modeling and regression analysis functions and limitations of the Chuvash language usage on the Internet and features of the digital Chuvash diaspora were revealed.
