Determinants of the Successful Passage of the Mass Open Online Courses

Mass open online courses are one of the most actute and studied topics in the field of education all over the world. To date, one of the most significant features of MOOC is a consistently low completion rate. Features of the completion of online courses are associated with different characteristics: from socio-economic (city and country of residence), including the influence of cultural and human capital, to personal, psychological, cognitive characteristics. This study is devoted to examining the factors which influence the success of taking the Mass open online courses by Russian students.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.
